Speech & Language Milestones: What to Expect From 3 Months to 2 Years

Speech and language development begins long before first words. Through play, interaction, reading, and everyday routines, children build the foundation for communication skills that will continue to grow for years to come.

3–6 Months

Early Communication Begins

At this age, babies are already learning how communication works.

You may notice your baby:

6–12 Months

Babbling & Understanding Grow
